My little sister was part of a team in the west island. It is a bit further in west, Dollard-des Ormeaux. Us ,West Islanders call it DDO. And so my little sister was part of DDO water polo. It is a world know water polo organization, where she would train daily and vigorously for hours with the best coaches, athletes, physical therapist and such. The woman's water polo team of Canada consists mainly of girl who attended this prestigious club in the West island. This is one example of hidden jewel that the west island has to offer. Normally, if you are raised in the West island, you end up being a synchronized swimmer, swimmer or water polo player. The area is surrounded by outdoor pools.
I remember me and my sister use to lifeguard every summer. Those were the days....We only had to worry about what bathing suit to wear, to bring our whistles and sunscreen. Some days in my working shift (as life guard) we would have the occasional kid who we warn not to go in the deep end but wouldn't listen, and so we wait knowingly...and bloobloooblooo double whistle kid drowning after attempting to jump off the diving board. To teach him a lesson, I wait a few seconds and dive in....so much for my hair being straight that day! hahah
