An ordinary day with a bit of a tragedy...

So today I decided to invite half my ecet class to go to the beach Sunday all day. We all agreed. Someone is bringing fruits, others drinks ect. Cant wait. Plus Ive been told that there will be an air show with F-1's and all kinds of fancy planes. Now that will be a first for me! Ill make sure not to forget my camera! WOHOOO.

Tomorrow I decided to do a major apartment/spring cleaning. I'll wake up early and scrub till dawn. I get in these cleaning moods at times. I guess when I feel that I'm alone, have to take care of myself I become more independent, which I'm sure my parents will appreciate.

Earlier today I get a phone call from a good friend of mine saying her dog fell 17 floors! I was in shock! I hope the little chiwawa makes it alive! But I hear odds are against him :( so sad...he was annoying wanted sooooooo much attention but was absolutely adorable, and he was a baby!

Wedding Part III....

So the party started off pretty well. Like I mentioned before the place was splendid! As we checked the big mural to see where my family I were seated, every body rushed into place. Then a singer came on with a band and the festivities started. The bridal party came in couple by couple and then the married couple came in! It was nice and cheerful.
Meanwhile I stepped into the ladies room to see our friends daughter, the groom's little sister half undressed crying was in shock and didn't know what happened. She then proceeded to explain to me that when she went into the room someone steeped on her dress and it ripped open! COMPLETELY and she was half naked in front of the hole place. I told her I missed it and I or my section didn't know this ever happened! I tried calming her down by making jokes such as the people were only happier, and that she has a killer body! lol she was giggling but embarrassed non the less. I help her wipe her mascara and re apply her makeup. Poor thing! Thank God there was a lady with a sowing kid, because her granddaughter was wearing a dress with pearls and she was afraid they would fall! The rest of the night was great! no more drama! everyone was happy and we all danced the night away. There was an emotional moment when the singer dedicated a few songs to the groom's late father...all in all the most beautiful wedding I have attended by far...until mine comes along of course :))

What a wedding Part II...

And so after a mini heart attack..I got dressed and somewhat blended in the high class crowd. So by 10pm the house was filled with males. After staying a while, we took the car and headed to the bride's house where the bridal party was. Wow! It was great! We sat there waited for an hour till the photographer snapped a couple hundred pictures of the bridal party and the bride! Snap Snap! It was nice. Some musicians came later and the limos as well. We then proceeded to go to the church. The ceremony was fabulous and I even teared up...Marriages make you think of Love and what you have. The couple , now pronounced husband and wife left to another church to snap some more pictures, and then went on the lake to do some more. We can never have enough pictures from a wedding! But i must say I would like more candid pictures at my wedding that poses!

At seven we went to this breath taking out of this world, golf club resort/hall! The view and set up was spectacular. At 7 cocktail hour begun. Free drinks and endless appetizers....

And what a Wedding it was part I...

This friday my mother and little sister came down to NYC for the weekend because we had a close family friend's wedding to attend in Detroit Michigan. We left around 8 am saturday morning. We arrived at about 9pm to Detroit. It seemed to have passed fast considering all I was doing is sleeping and waking up to go to the bathroom and eat. My poor dad was dead tired. After welcoming us in their home we ate yet again and went to bed.
The next day started extremely early. We were staying at the groom's house and so all the guys including best man and photographers came at about 10 am. It was a full house. I helped prepare breakfast and rushed up to get ready myself. The groom's mother and sister were up since 7 am and were by 10 am ready all glammed up, with hair done and make up looking great. At that point I wished i had someone do my hair and makeup.
Me and my sister went up and got ready in 2 hours. Too much but we had to help the sister and mom dress up ect... I was my sister's makeup artist and hair stylist. Everyone looked like a million bucks.
I almost had a heart attack, when I was about to get dressed because I thought my mom brought me the wrong dress! OUff!
To be continued...:)

A great weekend....

This weekend past a little too fast sadly. Like I mentioned before I had a few friends from out of town over for this weekend. Friday we didn't do much, just walked around in Time Square until it started to rain. At night we went out in the city that takes a completely new look with all the lights. They enjoyed the view very much. Because of the temperature change and humidity I couldn't breath Saturday. Allergies were at their worst and so I stayed in until I felt better. Later, we all visited Soho and saw a little show in the parc. It was this incredible contortionist. He was quite amazing. We also walked through China town and Little Italy. Sunday we visited places and streets I never knew existed here in the city. We purposely got lost and discovered beauties of this city. It is incredible how beautiful these building are. You can have a completely modern building next to an old one. We all loved it. We also had a taste of New York buy eating those fattening hot dogs and pretzels. No regrets though, they were delicious!! New York is completely

Summer, summer time....

Can't believe the semester is already half way through. I'm excited. Cannot wait for it to be over. I get to go back home for a good two weeks!!! The weather has been cooperating with my prayers and it is getting sunny! Perfect! I have a few friends coming down this weekend for a few days and we will visit around. But mostly we will be visiting galleries and art exhibitions because one of our friends, an aspiring artist has her first show. She is extremely talented. Valerie is a painter, and quite the dramatic one. I believe she will make it as an artist.

On another note, last night, the Montreal Canadians won the first round of the NHL series!! The city went CRAZY!!! over 100 000 people were parading outside till 12 am! there were more police patrol than people if that is possible...in 1993, there was a riot in MTL and people set cars on fire and destroyed store, it was embarrassing. But last night, things were under control. Only 25 arrests. I really wish I were there the savour the moments...I did have a taste of it by phone :)

Happy Superwoman Day!!...

Well Happy Mother’s day to all mothers out there! Today is one of those days where I wish I was in Montreal next to my mommy. I called her first thing in the morning…she sounded happy. My mother is truly the best mother on this galaxy. She had put up with a lot, never ever stopped giving and supporting me and my little sister. I hope one day I can give back meaningfully.

On a funny note, it is snowing in Montreal!! Hahah this weather has been very unstable even here in NYC. One minute we are spreading suntan oil on ourselves, making plans to go to the beach, and then the other taking out our coats again! Needless to say I am a bit sick and hope that is nothing more than allergies.

I am really happy that we have somewhat of a mini summer break of about two weeks coming up after the end of this semester. We all need it.

Happy mother’s day again ;)

My home...

Today has been an extremely long day. Ive been at school since 9 am and it is not 7pm. I am exhausted, cranky and full. Can't wait for the semester to be over, and don't really want to write about my home because its making me want to go back there even more. If I could, and school wouldn't stop me, I would be back every second week. But it isn't realistic at all.

Lat Thursday, I really wanted to go to the beach, but when I woke up the weather was cloudy. It rained for a nanosecond, and the rest of the day was beautiful. IO was so mad I missed out on a good day. This weekend doesn't look to promising either. The weather channel guys should be more accurate. We cannot depend on them. I hope this summer will be a nice hot and sunny one...looking forward exploring NY.

Ten minutes have already passed....

Pointe Claire...

Writing about my neighborhood is making me reminisce on good old times. I remember going for ice cream with my best friend and then we would go roller skating along the lake shore and try different restaurant every week!

In the west island there is one Cejep, we all, west islander attended. John Abbott. If you were a west islander you attended this school. It had the most beautiful campus in Montreal. The view was simply breath taking. We would drive along the lake to get there, passing mansions after mansions, and the campus was in front of the lake surrounded by greens and smell of cows...was great...while it lasted

My Neighborhood continued....

My little sister was part of a team in the west island. It is a bit further in west, Dollard-des Ormeaux. Us ,West Islanders call it DDO. And so my little sister was part of DDO water polo. It is a world know water polo organization, where she would train daily and vigorously for hours with the best coaches, athletes, physical therapist and such. The woman's water polo team of Canada consists mainly of girl who attended this prestigious club in the West island. This is one example of hidden jewel that the west island has to offer. Normally, if you are raised in the West island, you end up being a synchronized swimmer, swimmer or water polo player. The area is surrounded by outdoor pools.

I remember me and my sister use to lifeguard every summer. Those were the days....We only had to worry about what bathing suit to wear, to bring our whistles and sunscreen. Some days in my working shift (as life guard) we would have the occasional kid who we warn not to go in the deep end but wouldn't listen, and so we wait knowingly...and bloobloooblooo double whistle kid drowning after attempting to jump off the diving board. To teach him a lesson, I wait a few seconds and dive in....so much for my hair being straight that day! hahah

Welcome to my Neighborhood....

So. My neighborhood. Let me take you guys up north into beautiful Montreal, Canada. Montreal is a bilingual city, where you see french in big writing and underneath the english version in type 10 font. Yes! And if you fail to write anything in French you get a ticket! I guess we want to keep French the main language in Montreal. I live in the suburbs of Montreal, in the "West". "West as in the west island. Typically the West is more the chichi, daddy's girl, spoiled English crowed( which I am not part of). The west Islanders have their reputation! It is the Long island of New York. In the west, I live in Pointe-claire which is the closest to Montreal, 20 mins by bus on a straight highway separating it form downtown. On my street there are two houses. I love it! Everything looks almost the same, the houses are nice and big, in the summer kids play outside, there are plenty of green and parks and even forests in my beautiful neighborhood. Everyone has their own garage and nice green lawns. I believe in the summer it is always a competition between neighbors as to who will get the greener grass. I think my parents do a pretty good job! In my neighborhood, we have a suburban train that goes deeper in the west or to society(downtown Mtl). Buses don't run often, that's why you almost must have to have a car if you live in the West. It is a very community focused area, where if you have extra curricular activities it is the place to be. My neighborhood is seperated by a Lake. I live on the other side of the Lakeshore, but it is a short ten fifteen minutes walk to it. I used to love to take long walks, or late night car rides along the shore....Oh I miss it!
