Feeling the pressure...

Already the last week of this Summer session B! I can say it did fly by... the pressure is one this week I have a humongous mega exam on the day of my birthday. I'm trying to get ahead in my other classes, as in completing the first week wherever the shells are open. This upcoming semester what ill try to change, is to be always one step ahead of things... lets see the walk now lol. I have two heavy classes but very interesting ones. I think ill even keep this blogging up. It helped me throughout the semester i find, to get my ideas and feelings out.
Next weekend my sister has her first tournament /swim meet. It'll give me the chance again to spend all weekend with her.
Back to my books....

Sick and Grumpy...

Yesterday, I had a great day with my friend who came down from Boston. After being stuck in Manhattan traffic for over an hour, she brought me to this great Afghan restaurant. I've never tried it before. It was a fist and definitely not the last time! After eating like pigs, we ventured out to Brooklyn where we had coffee. Then by the end of the night she surprised me with an early birthday gift! a pair of jeans and make up! WOHOO!!

This morning I woke up with a soar throat, and running nose!Great just before finals. This weather change affected a lot of people... Too bad I'll tough it out, but it s making studying and concentrating that much harder :( My birthday is coming up next Thursday. This year I have nothing planed considering all my friends and loved ones are in MTL. I still dream of a great surprise where my friends show up here in NYC! lol Would be awesome! Instead this year all I get is an ECET final! lol... at least my mom is flying down! :)
My nose is running non stop!
Hate being sick...

Sister Bonding Weekend!

What a nice weekend I had...other than a few little misshaps. Friday I was suppose to meet with my friend from Boston, who told me she would take me out to lunch to this great place. So in the morning i am anxious to see her till 5pm comes and no word from her. At this point Im more shocked at the fact that i got royally ditched! lol. After class i went home, and worked a bit. Saturday morning I met up with my little sister in Brooklyn and went to see a great scrimmage (not a real game) from her school's men water polo team. Was very entertaining to watch because they were amazing but violent. We spent the afternoon walking together. At night my friends came from back home and invited me out for supper. They brought me to the Meat pack industry to a place called Buddha kan. WOW! Loved every part of it...even the wait. It is truly a beautiful restaurant. Later we met up with my sister and spent a bit of time together. The next day, my sister's roommate and herself had an early practice of 4 hours! haha poor girls! After working a bit a decided to re watch the Sex and the City movie. To my surprise on of the scenes that was shot in the movie was the exact same place i was the night before!!! Buddha kan! soo cool! lol
Come Monday, me and my sister were eager to see my dad, because he went back to Montreal to visit my mom, who had prepared us amazing home cooked meals! mmmmm! Who can beat that!

After rain...Sunshine! :)

This morning I woke up around 4 am and wasn't able to go back to bed. I probably slept sooo much the day before that my body's got enough! lol nonsense I know...So this morning I step out of the house fairly early and the weather was horrible. Its raining! Great yet another potential bad hair day ;) I get to school and study till about noon, and I am getting anxious to see my friend who is visiting me. But she never ended up calling or giving me any sign of life :( from then my day wasn't too good. We were suppose to go eat, so i did not bother to pach up lunch and snack for myself. Grrrrr! I was starved but decide to go home and make myself a meal and head to my usual study spot at Starbucks. I love it there....
My mood was getting better as the sun was coming out. Weird how this day went from rain to shine! Next week, Friday they are predicting snow for Montreal! hahhhahaha....sucks for them. Oh and a big day today for Mr the President. He won the Nobel Prize of Peace. Good for him. He is a great individual, but to my eyes he did not dedicate his life or done something extraordinary (yet)like did Mother Theresa or Gandhi or Martti Ahtisaari. Only my view. I mean it is a HUGE deal! so good on him...lets hope he makes us all proud and will prove himself worthy of it!

Not so Little girl in Big city....

So finally today I finished up my Resume. I am very proud of myself because with a little help I was able to make 3 different versions. Now with that done i will go around the city and see what's out there.

Although we are in the same city, i barely get to see my little sister. She is on a water polo scholarship and she has crazy training hours on top of her busy school schedule. I think this weekend i will make the time and spend Saturday with her and her roommates. We will organize a little girls night in their beautiful Brooklyn apartment. I was planning on asking each girl to cook a typical dish. We'll have dishes from Hawaii, Caslifornia, Mexico and Canada! Sounds really good.
Now Im going to go and try not to loose myself in the Big Apple...wish me luck!

A nice surprise...

Today, I spend 4 hours trying to put together a compass in my electronics class. I followed everything to the tee. Soldered every little wire, made the right connections...at the end, to my disappointment my compass did not lit up! The professor tried to figure out the problem, no luck. The teacher's assistant did the same, and no luck. Finally, I gave up...Later i went up to my father, who was convinced to make this all work. And it was all perfect, except for a little tiny connection! Now that made my day. I was laughing to myself thinking i was so excited about putting together an electronic compass and people actually make their living by putting together machines and computers! Well it is a start for sure! It made me realize to never give up and to have confidence in my work.

Another good part of my day, was reviewing my notes. I'm sure all students have that feeling when sometimes you thing you get a good great and then it is a disappointment. Or the total opposite. This afternoon, to my great surprise I did better than expected on two of my papers! Now that sure does put a smile on my face!!:)
My birthday is coming up in two weeks!! gee I'm getting mature lol

Famiglia,Family, Famille...

Guess what? It is Monday afternoon, i do not have class and i am yet again inn school! Work seems to be never ending. I'm not only trying to finish work but also try to get ahead of things fro my next semester, as in getting the books ect...
My friend went through really hard times this weekend, and it only made me realize, that no matter how much we do complain about our family, that we all have disagreement, we are lucky to have them. Well this is what i realised! I realised that i am luckier than the norm, and i have a beautiful, loving, supporting family!
Tomorrow is the birthday of two of my best friends that live in Montreal. Oh, i would of given anything to be there this weekend. Not only am i missing their birthday but a wedding as well. Tough luck!Today I caught myself dreaming about Christmas time..yes already1 I know it is a beautiful season here in NYC with everything being lighten up, skating rings, a bit of snow, smell of ginger cookies mmm my favorites....
I'm going to try to finish up work before my stomach sends me home...at this rate I'll be fat by Chrismas! lol

Rain,rain, rain.....

Out of all days to rain, it has to rain Saturday! :( I am currently at school finishing up work, and the rain is motivating me to stay here till closure...Two days ago me and my friend decided to venture out mid west side and find this great sushi place. After walking and walking, we finally found the place but it was packed and there was a 30 minutes wait. My stomach couldn't wait a minute let alone 30! We decided to walk a bit more in hope to find something good. After a few minutes, we finally found a cute little sushi place called West side Sushi! Loved it! Affordable price, very adorable decor, reminiscing of west side story. At one point we were the only ones in the restaurant and the service was just great! My girlfriend is a fanatic of wasabi...her soy sauce was not dark brown but rather green! Her eyes started tearing up and her nose was running...lol i got to say i told her so!
All this talk about food is making me hungry...i am craving a past dish...lets see where my stomach takes me this time....
